Well Water Testing

Water testing is highly recommended for residents with well water. The EPA recommends getting your well water tested every year for E. coli, nitrates, dissolved solids, and pH. See the information below for the tests we offer through the Indiana State Department of Health.

Bacteria

E. coli and total coliform are tested for. Most coliform bacteria are harmless but the strain most commonly referred to as E. coli can cause severe illness. This test must be performed in 30 hours so we will not accept samples on Friday and will need them immediately after collection. The cost is $40. Check out the following link to learn more.

Nitrates

High levels of nitrates can be especially dangerous for pregnant women and infants. Nitrate can occur naturally in small amounts. The cost for this test is $15. Click on the following link for more information.

Heavy Metals

Arsenic, copper, and lead are tested for in this kit. Each can cause illnesses in high amounts and need to be tested for regularly. The cost for this test is $25. Click on the following link for more information on metals in drinking water.

Home Water Testing

The above tests are separate tests. To decide which test fits your needs see the link below. We will provide the test kits but you will have to collect the sample.
